ERIC

Eric the Elf is our School mascot who helps our children to develop their learning behaviours.

His name stands for:

  • Effort
  • Respect
  • Independence
  • Communication

 

The children can collect special awards during the year if ERIC spots them using these skills:

 

1.  Stickers are awarded to children showing these skills, they keep these stickers on their jumpers to share at home.

2. Children receive ‘ERIC spotted me …’ awards in assembly for showing good progress towards an area.

3. Every child has an ERIC table mat.  When the children are consistently showing these learning behaviours they can then progressively receive a bronze, silver and gold star.

4. When children fill up one quarter of their card they will be awarded a special ERIC certificate along with a small prize.  There are 4 to collect!  When children collect all four certificates they will receive a special prize.

5.   When parents visit the school we encourage them to fill in an ERIC spotted me card to show how these learning behaviours are seen at home too!

6. All ERIC awards are displayed in the hall initially and then kept in a class ERIC book for sharing with visitors and families.
