Curriculum Accessibility, Equality and Inclusion

At Crays Hill Primary School, we are committed to providing a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum that is accessible to all pupils. In accordance with the Equality Act 2010, we actively promote equality of opportunity and do not discriminate against pupils on the grounds of disability, race, religion or belief, sex, age, gender reassignment, pregnancy or maternity, marriage or civil partnership, or sexual orientation. We foster an inclusive environment where diversity is valued, respected and reflected throughout our curriculum.

In line with the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice 2014 and the Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014, we make reasonable adjustments and provide appropriate support to ensure that pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) can access the full curriculum and participate fully in school life.

Our curriculum is designed using inclusive teaching principles and is adapted to meet the needs of individual learners through:

• High-quality, adaptive teaching that enables all pupils to access learning.
• Appropriate scaffolding, modelling and pre-teaching of key vocabulary and concepts.
• A range of visual, practical and multisensory approaches to learning.

• Personalised provision outlined in support plans, EHCPs and SEND support arrangements.
• Ongoing assessment that identifies barriers to learning and informs next steps.
• Close partnership working with parents, carers and external professionals.

The curriculum reflects the needs of our community and is designed so that all pupils, regardless of starting point, can achieve success and develop the knowledge, skills and cultural capital they need for their future lives. Through our curriculum, pupils learn about diversity, respect, inclusion and British Values, helping them become responsible citizens who understand and celebrate differences within modern Britain.

We regularly review our curriculum, accessibility arrangements and SEND provision to ensure that all pupils can participate fully and achieve their potential.
